VIP FAMILY PRIZE ON OFFER FOR OAKWOOD’S SPORT RELIEF MILE
Oakwood Theme Park is offering one lucky family the chance to win a special VIP prizes as part of its Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile event which takes place on Sunday, March 20th.
Anyone who enters the charity event will automatically go in to a prize draw to win a family ticket (two adults, two children) to the theme park, along with four fast passes and free rides on Vertigo – the 160-foot-tall sky coaster ride.
The Sport Relief Mile features a course which winds its way through the Pembrokeshire park’s famous rides.
There will be three different distances for people to enter: one mile, three miles and six miles with all monies raised going towards Sport Relief.
Competitors will be able to walk, run or skip their way around the course as the race is also providing a special preview to the park which is set to open its doors for the 2016 season next month.
Oakwood’s Natalie Hunt said: “This is a special event and we wanted to come up with a really special added incentive to get people to come along and take part.
“The VIP prize we are offering is unique and we’re hoping it will provide a little extra motivation for those who have yet to sign up.
“We’ve got a team of people from the park taking part, along with our costume character Scorch the Dragon and we’re expecting it to be a really amazing fun day for everyone.
“As well as getting the chance to do some gentle exercise and raise money for an incredible cause, the event also allows people to get a sneak preview of Oakwood before we officially re-open to the public on March 24th,” she added.
The event will be running from 9.30am – 3pm. Registration is from 9.30am and the first wave will set off at 10.30am. There will be free parking as well as a variety of refreshments available on the day.
