TV Presenters get DRENCHED at Oakwood!

22 May, 2011

Presenters from S4C fashion show Y Lle Gwisgo (‘The Fashion Place’) visited Oakwood Theme Park as part of an extreme beauty product test this week.
The show’s male presenters Matthew Jenkins, Nicholas Patterson and Ben Williams were asked to test waterproof hair gel while riding ‘Drenched’ – the tallest, steepest and wettest ride in Europe.
The results of their experiments are due to be broadcast on the show later in the year.
Oakwood Theme Park’s Sandra Hine said: “I think it’s safe to say that ‘Drenched’ definitely lived up to its name and all the products, as well as the presenters, went through a very thorough test!
“It turned out to be a really effective – and fun way – to test out the various hair gels and I’m sure it will make a very funny feature on the show, we certainly enjoyed watching them film it,” she added.
Opened in 2002, Drenched is the tallest, steepest and wettest water ride in Europe. After climbing more than 30 metres into the air riders are faced with a near vertical 88 degree drop into 4.5million litres of water.
Even spectators need to be on their guard to dodge the 45 foot splash wave on the wooden viewing bridge.
