2017 Dates and Ticketing Announced

16 February, 2017

Oakwood Theme Park is proud to officially launch the 2017 season calendar which is now live on the website!

The season kicks off on Friday 14th April (Good Friday), and it already stands to be a fantastic year for the park, as Oakwood celebrates the park’s 30th anniversary! In a fun packed calendar, an exciting number of events are already planned, including a new ‘Eggstravaganza’ Easter themed event over the weekend of 15th & 16th April!

In a change to previous opening arrangements, mid-week in June will see the opening of Neverland only, in the new Explore Neverland offering. Perfect for children aged 2-8 years, including the massive soft play ‘Hooks House of Havoc’, log flume ‘Skull Rock’ and ‘Tink’s Flying School’, this offering is ideal for pre-school children, infants school or young primary school aged children. At just £6.70 per child, with free adult entry per child, this is a great opportunity to Explore Neverland in a contained theme park offering.

After Dark returns for 9 dates during August! In 2016 Oakwood introduced ‘Colourfest’ as part of After Dark, a UV Paint Party! Following the fabulous reviews, and many great videos uploaded across YouTube, Oakwood are thrilled to announce that this will again be part of the After Dark line up for 2017, with even more colour and paint than before!! Live Entertainment, Rides In The Dark and Fireworks will also again return, along with a brand new element included as part of the finale show each evening!

Spooktacular 2016 saw the introduction of 2 new themed attractions; ‘Spoked Ailve House of Horrors’ and ‘Maze of the Lost Souls’. Both attractions return for 2017, with an updated storyline and new scenes in ‘Maze of the Lost Souls’ as visitors to Oakwood revisit the forbidden area 1 year on! Spooktacular 2017, which will run from Thursday 26th October to Tuesday 31st October to accommodate the variable October Half Term holiday dates, will also include no fewer than 3 additional themed Halloween attractions, plus 2 new dedicated Scare Zones! In an exciting and new twist to the Halloween offering, Oakwood is thrilled to announce ‘Spooktacular Bites Back’ which will be run on Saturday 28th October. Late night opening for this event will see Oakwood ‘come alive’ in the dark, as our mazes and attractions take a sinister and more extreme approach for those brave enough to dare! Also on offer will be the opportunity to enjoy certain rides in the dark, and soak up the atmosphere of what is expected to be a ‘chilling’ night for all!

Oakwood will close for the 2017 season on Saturday 4th November, with a spectacular Fireworks finale.

Speaking about the 2017 Calendar, Phil Verbinnen (Park Director) said, “We’re thrilled to be able to announce these events at this stage of the year, and offer multiple reasons to visit Oakwood Theme Park in 2017. There were some real successes in the development of After Dark and Spooktacular in 2016, but they were only a starting point. Both events return this year bigger than ever, and I am particularly excited about the changes we’re bringing to Spooktacular, and the brand new ‘Spooktacular Bites Back’ offering. We’re planning on adding a number of additional events to the calendar as the season gets underway, so would encourage guests to keep checking the website, Social Media and in park information”.

The Oakwood website is currently undergoing development and update which will include dedicated pages set up for each of these events. These pages, along with Social Media will be the place for updates, exclusives and live information about each event as it is released. Other pages are being updated daily, so don’t panic if you currently can’t find what you are looking for… It is expected all pages will be updated by the end of February.

In addition to launching the 2017 calendar, Oakwood are able to confirm the 2017 pricing and entry structure, which for the first time ever offers massive savings of up to 40% online, against the gate price. Savings vary by the date each booking is made; with greater savings available the earlier bookings are completed. Check out the new ticketing page online for more information.

The Oakwood Annual Pass is to be re-launched week commencing 20th February. Offering greater savings on multiple visits, access to Annual Pass holder only events, Pin Badge & Lanyard, discounts on Catering, Retail and Vertigo flights within Oakwood, and a range of money saving vouchers for use at Oakwood and other attractions within the Aspro Group. A pre-opening sale on a limited number of passes is to be included in the offering, which will run until 14th April, or earlier if all promotional passes are sold.

Online activity and on Social Media will build up over the coming weeks as the count down to the 2017 opening of Oakwood Theme Park begins. Keep an eye on our Social Media and website for chances to win tickets, prizes and unique opportunities, throughout the year.
We hope that our visitors from across Wales and beyond are as excited about these new changes as we are!
