We're backing Geraint!

Excited staff at Oakwood Theme Park are looking forward to cheering on their official ambassador cyclist Geraint Thomas MBE, at this year’s Tour de France which starts on Saturday.
The Cardiff-born 25-year-old is part of the hugely successful British-based Team Sky.
Geraint won Olympic gold in the team pursuit at 2008’s Beijing Games and in last year’s Tour de France he wore the white jersey for best young rider.

Keen cyclist and Oakwood operations supervisor, Scott Ashman, who recently took part in a 100-mile race from Cardiff to Tenby said: “To have someone like Geraint as the park’s ambassador this year is amazing.
“He is a real inspiration and we all wish him well for the Tour de France. It was a fantastic experience when he came down to visit us and we’re all extremely proud to have a true Welshman to cheer on in this year’s race.
“We’ll all be following him on Twitter and watching as much of the race as we can until he reached the Champs Elysees on July 24th after three weeks in the saddle!” he added.
During his last visit to Oakwood Theme Park Geraint kindly brought along a selection of his medals, including his Olympic gold and he will be donating a cycling jersey at the end of the race to raise money for charity.
“When I was approached to become an ambassador for Oakwood I thought it was a great idea. It’s a fantastic theme park and I’m keen to do my bit to help promote it and to encourage more people to visit Wales,” said Geraint.
“We had a great time there on our last visit and the amazing ride on Speed in particular is something I will always remember. I’m looking forward to getting back there sometime during the season – as and when training and racing allows,” he added.
