6 May, 2011

Oakwood Theme Park has appointed a new Deputy General Manager to be in charge of operations at the popular Pembrokeshire attraction.
David Stock, from Tenby, says he is relishing the opportunity to work at what he describes as ‘the best family day out in Wales’.
David, who is also a town councillor in Tenby, has wide experience of working in the leisure industry both nationally and locally.
He moved to Pembrokeshire in 2005 for an increased quality of life and is particularly keen in helping to promote the region to a wider audience.
Oakwood Park Director, Andy Hygate, said: “David is a really valuable addition to the team. His knowledge and enthusiasm will undoubtedly help to maintain and build our reputation as a must-see attraction.”
A key part of David’s new role will be listening to visitors and helping to improve the overall visitor experience.
“I’m delighted to become part of the team here at Oakwood and am thoroughly looking forward to rest of the season,” said David.
“I have a passionate interest in the leisure industry; particularly theme parks and so this is a dream job for me.
“My role will be to help maintain the amazing atmosphere here at the park and to ensure that people consistently enjoy their time with us,” he added.
Set in 80 acres of Pembrokeshire countryside Oakwood is one of the UK’s leading theme parks.
Oakwood’s unique combination of attractions includes world-class roller, tower and sky coasters, spectacular family rides, children’s themed play areas and much more.
New features for this year include late-night opening in August, an amazing new Wild West Diving Show for the summer and new water cannons for Drenched which allow onlookers to give ride-goers an extra soaking!
