Oakwood Theme Park Seeks Head of Engineering and Estates

Oakwood Theme Park, located in 80 acres of idyllic setting of Pembrokeshire, West Wales, has an exciting opportunity for an individual to join its team as Head of Engineering and Estates.

 

About the Role
You are responsible for the management of engineering and estates teams making sure all of our rides and facilities are available for guests whilst meeting the highest standards of safety. You will plan, organise and coordinate engineering and maintenance activities and liaise with ride manufacturers. You will manage financial budgets for your departments; Procure and contract 3rd party services; be an active member of the Health and Safety Committee and ensure procedures are understood and practiced across departments; during the winter period you will lead the team and projects within your area of responsibility to deliver the statutory annual inspection.

 

About You
Experience of managing team with strong leadership skills; strong communication and organisation skills; have a great attitude, work ethic and passion to succeed; ability to remain calm and clear headed when under pressure; ability to read mechanical and electrical engineering drawings and OEM manuals; Good analytical and problem solving skills are essential.

The role requires you to work at heights on a regular basis and therefore you must confident in doing so. Full training will be given.

This is a hands-on role and therefore applicants must be in good physical health as the role will include physical activity on a regular basis such as lifting, carrying and general maintenance/manual work.

The role is permanent, averaging 40 hours per week and will include weekends, bank holidays as required and some late nights during July/August. A full driving license is essential.

 

About the benefits
Alongside a competitive salary of £40,000 per annum we are offering a benefits package that includes a pension plan, holiday package increasing on an annual basis, two week Christmas close down period, Monday to Friday working out of season and an Annual Pass into Aspro Parks attractions worldwide.

Oakwood Theme Park Seeks Supervisor Technician – Electrical
Salary £25,000 plus benefits

Oakwood Theme Park, located in 80 acres of idyllic setting of Pembrokeshire, West Wales, has an exciting opportunity for an individual to join its team as Supervisor Technician – Electrical.

 

About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Engineering and Estates you will work as an operational Electrical Supervisor responsible for the planning, organisation and implementation of electrical engineering works across the Oakwood Theme Park estate and portfolio of rides & attractions.

As Supervisor Technician (Electrical) you will provide leadership, coordination, development, coaching and mentoring to a small team of engineers, ensuring they are trained enabling them to achieve the operational tasks within their areas of responsibility and succeed in their roles.

During the season you will work operationally carrying out planned preventative maintenance, unplanned maintenance, ride start up procedures and safety checks. During off peak and winter periods assist in the annual inspection of all rides and attractions ensuring compliance with Amusement Device Inspection Procedure Scheme (ADIPS).

This is a varied role requiring swift and comprehensive fault finding and rectification skills on electrical equipment. You will liaise with ride manufacturers and suppliers for repair advice, replacement parts and updates.

About You
You will have the ability to work as a team to come up with imaginative solutions and to identify innovative alternatives to typical, unusual or difficult situations or problems. You will thrive under pressure and able to work to deadlines and prioritise and plan work effectively.

As a minimum you will have an Electrical Level 3 NVQ Diploma, or City and Guilds 2391 or 2394/5. In addition to Level 3 NVQ you will have 17th Edition BS7671.

You should have prior experience in reactive and planned works in Electrical Systems and Equipment.
