OAKWOOD THEME PARK AWARDED QUALITY
ASSURED VISITOR ATTRACTION STATUS
Oakwood Theme Park has gained Visit Wales Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme status.
The new status was awarded following a visit by the Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Service Cymru (VAQAS) earlier in the year.
It is a quality assurance scheme administered by Visit Wales which provides a consumer focused quality assessment helping to identify strengths and highlight developmental areas within visitor attractions.
As part of the assessment the Visit Wales team said the theme park ‘was well presented and well maintained’ they also commented ‘standards of cleanliness throughout the attraction were very good’ and went on it was ‘good to note the new emphasis on quality, locally, Welsh sourced produce’.
Oakwood Theme Park’s Head of Operations, James Owen, said: “We are extremely pleased to have received such a positive assessment from the VAQAS team and it is a testament to all the hard work undertaken by our staff over the past few years.
“The ongoing investment and development of the visitor experience is transforming Oakwood and we are constantly looking at new ways to improve and respond positively to visitor feedback,” he added.
Referring to the new developments which have taken place over the past two years, including the Peter Pan-themed Neverland attraction area, the assessors said the ‘Neverland attraction is excellent and unrecognisable from the Advisory visit two years ago’ and ‘Circusland was very popular with families’.
Set in 90 acres of spectacular Pembrokeshire countryside, Oakwood is one of the UK’s leading theme parks with more than 30 exhilarating attractions; including four world class rides to enjoy.
‘Neverland’ is the park’s huge new £4.5m Peter Pan-themed area, which spreads across more than three acres and features 10 new family rides and attractions.
