Staff enjoy sneak preview of Oakwood's rides
Staff at Oakwood Theme Park in Pembrokeshire got the chance to try out the rides before it officially opens to the public on Saturday, April 4th.
The staff, ranging in age from 17 to over 70, have been recruited to fill a wide range of roles from cashiers and security to ride supervisors, train drivers, maintenance and reception staff.
Oakwood Theme Park’s Marketing Manager, Stephanie Churchard, said: “We’re extremely lucky to be able to recruit from such a broad spectrum of people.
“Some staff have been coming back for 10 years or more while, for others, this will be their first real experience of work.
“The fact that we have such a range of ages, abilities and experience really helps to create a family feel to the park and engenders a definite sense of team spirit.
“A number of our more ‘senior’ staff work on the Park’s miniature railway and are always extremely popular with visitors for their friendly and welcoming attitude,” she added.
The majority of the staff have been taken on this month, with more coming on board prior to the main summer holiday period.
Set in 80 acres of spectacular Pembrokeshire countryside Oakwood is one of the UK’s leading theme parks.
Oakwood’s unique combination of attractions includes world-class roller, tower and sky coasters, spectacular family rides, children’s themed play areas, live events and so much more. |
