Oakwood Kiss Competition to Celebrate National Kissing Day

Pulses soared even higher than usual at Oakwood Theme Park on Friday 6th July as visitors were encouraged to take part in a Most Imaginative Kiss competition to celebrate National Kissing Day.

Visitors to the theme park were challenged to come up with the most imaginative kiss of the day and capture the kiss on camera.  Oakwood Managing Director Paddy McNamara judged the entries of the most imaginative kiss and the winners, Leanne and Aaron Freeman from Pontypridd, were crowned Oakwood’s Kissing King and Queen and awarded a Royal Ticket, which allows free entry into the park for a full day.

A photographer was at the park between 12pm and 2pm to catch the romantic kisses of amorous couples.  Visitors were also being encouraged to take matters into their own hands and snap their own most unusual kiss during their day at the theme park and upload the pictures and contact details onto the Get Involved section of the Oakwood website at www.oakwoodthemepark.co.uk

Paddy McNamara, Managing Director at Oakwood Theme Park said:  “Theme parks are perfect places for celebrating National Kissing Day.  Our roller coasters are designed to get pulses racing at the best of times, and adding a kiss into the mix with someone who gets your heart fluttering can only add to the pleasure and excitement of the whole experience.

Kissing is scientifically proven to make you happy because puckering up is said to release the hormone oxytocin.  If you mix this with the adrenaline rush of riding a roller coaster we believe you have a winning formula!”
