Beach Sales Team (SEASONAL)

Seasonal Fixed Term from April to November 2014

£6.31 per hour

 

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for you to play an important role in the Marketing and Commercial department ensuring that Oakwood Theme Park achieves its visitor growth targets through being part of our Beach Sales Team.

Reporting into the Marketing and Sales Manager, main responsibilities will include operating our beach concessions including bouncy castle, distribution of Oakwood Theme Park leaflets throughout the season across a wide variety of different location near Tenby Beaches. Selling Oakwood Tickets and building relationships with key providers. Also carrying out targeted leafleting actions and promotional work off site is another key aspect of this role.

The Requirements

A full clean driving licence is required for this role. Previous experience of using Excel is an advantage. We are looking for a hard worker who can work off site unsupervised and also has a great sense of humour and a real enthusiasm for meeting new people and upselling Oakwood Theme Park as the best attraction in Wales.

Rides Operations Manager

Permanent Position – Immediate Start

Would you like the opportunity to work in an environment that provides a different challenge every day? Would you like to work in a role that can test your customer service skills and organisational ability on a daily basis? Are you extremely confident and willing to put in the hours to ensure a world class operation?

Oakwood Theme Park is located in the idyllic setting of Pembrokeshire, West Wales and has an exciting opportunity for an individual to be involved at the heart of the sites daily operations.

The role provides a unique working environment in the leisure industry and this is a varied and challenging role, with responsibilities including;

* Enforcing health and safety policies and procedures at all times, ensuring it remains our No 1 priority.
* Motivating and leading a team of Ride Operators who are responsible for dispatching the rides in a fun, but safe and clean environment.
* Demonstrating a professional and consistent management style that reflects the needs of both the team and the business.
* Performing additional duties as part of the operational management team, such as Park Manager for the day as may be required.
* To assist other sites, out of season, with health and safety requirements.

To be successful you will need to be:

 

* Possess a relevant health and safety qualification.
* Have a good understanding of health and safety within the leisure industry with knowledge of HSG175 desirable.
* Confident and able to work in an environment that provides interaction with various departments and members of the public.
* Have experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
* Experienced in a fast paced customer service position.
* Be organised, punctual, and willing to be involved in most aspects of the day to day running of a busy theme park.

This is a full time permanent role, based upon working 5 days per week out of 7 and includes regular bank holiday and weekend working.

Seasonal Visitor Services Manager

Seasonal Fixed Term 40 hours per week from April to November 2014

Would you like the opportunity to work in an environment that provides a different challenge every day? Would you like to work in a role that can test your customer service and organisational skills?
Oakwood Theme Park is located in the idyllic setting of Pembrokeshire, West Wales and has an exciting opportunity for an individual to manage the daily expectations of all visitors by managing the sites Visitor Service Experience, providing a unique working environment at the heart of one of Pembrokeshire major attractions.

This is a varied and challenging role and your responsibilities would include, ensuring the smooth entrance of all visitors through the entrance tills and ensuring any customer contact points match the customer expectations.
To be successful you will need to be:

* Confident and able to work in an environment that provides interaction with various departments and members of the public.

* Be It literate including having a basic understanding of online marketing and how to use marketing tools
* Have experience in till management.
* Experienced in a fast paced customer service position
* Be organised, punctual, and willing to be involved in most aspects of the day to day running of a busy theme park.

This is a Seasonal full time post which requires working 5 days a week and includes working regular weekends and bank holidays.

Catering Team Leader

Seasonal position running from April to October 2014

£6.42 per hour

 

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of our Catering team within our amazing Theme Park.  Our fast paced Park food and beverage operation is looking for Team Leaders to support the permanent team in ensuring the team delivers outstanding service and quality food from our many catering outlets across the Park.

 

Reporting to the Catering Manager you will be tasked with motivating and leading a team of Catering Assistants to deliver excellent guest service and drive the highest service standards.  You will manage the day to day operation of designated outlets, helping ensure your restaurant achieveshigh scoreson food hygiene audits and that you are always delivering a quality product in an efficient yet fun way.

 

The Requirements

Previous supervisory experience is preferred and ideally in catering or retail environment, although experience in any fast moving guest service environment is what is most important.  A food hygiene certificate would be a distinct advantage, although training in this area will be given.  Above all, you need to be a confident outgoing individual, capable of motivating and inspiring a diverse team of Catering Assistants.  If you can meet this challenge, then apply now and tell us more about you!

Catering Assistants

Seasonal position running from April to October 2014

The Role

Enjoy the unique experience that Oakwood Theme Park has to offer, by assisting in the running of the Catering outlets within our amazing Theme Park including our exciting brand new themed restaurant for 2014. You’ll be responsible for serving food and drinks to our guests. The number one aspect of your role will be to deliver high standards of guest service, whilst ensuring a clean and safe environment is kept and assisting the business to comply with hygiene rules and legislation.

 

The Requirements

There are no formal qualifications required to take on this role.  All we ask is that you are a hard worker, reliable with a great sense of humour and a real enthusiasm for giving our guests the best service imaginable.

 

All our positions included working weekends, bank holidays and evenings during our late night openings.  There are no set hours to your working week and as always you will need to have a flexible approach and be willing to work around the needs of the business.

Seasonal Cashiers

Seasonal Fixed Term 40 hours per week from April to November 2014

 

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the finance team within Oakwood Theme Park.  We are looking for Cashiers to support the permanent finance team in taking responsibility for the cash on the Park.  You need to be organised, a hard worker and security conscious as throughout your shift you will ensure the safe and secure handling of cash, perform cash lifts across our many outlets and issue floats to them in the morning.

 

The Requirements

You don’t need any experience, although previous cash handling experience would be advantageous.  We’re looking for the right attitude – someone who shows their initiative and has a common sense approach as well as showing real enthusiasm in working as a team.

Cash Office Supervisor

Seasonal Fixed Term 40 hours per week from April to November 2014

 

The Role

To provide seasonal assistance in the Finance department, taking responsibility for all cash on site. To plan & supervise the safe & secure handling of cash, organising & performing cash lifts across a number of park outlets, issuing floats & daily/weekly input of financial data accurately & within company deadlines on a daily basis.

 

The Requirements

The ideal candidate must have previous experience of working in an accounts environment/cash office ideally within a customer-facing organisation.

 

Candidates should have accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to use initiative as essential skills as well as being self-motivated, a good communicator and able to work as part of a team.  You will also need to be organised, a hard worker and security conscious.

 

This is a full time seasonal role, based upon working 5 days per week out of 7.

Seasonal Fix Term Contract runs from April 2014 to November 2014

 

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the product selling team within our amazing Theme Park.  Do you have the flair to sell?  Have you got an outgoing personality?  Do you like being centre of attention?  Have you got what it takes?  Our aim is to create an incredible experience for our guests by offering an exciting range of products from souvenir ride photos to designer hoodies and fantastic sweets. You will be part of a highly motivated team that drives sales both indoors and outdoors in various locations across the park.  The role incorporates positive guest interaction along with upselling a wide range of products.

 

The Requirements

You will need cash handling skills, be target driven and have a real passion for sales and guest service.  You may have a performance background and possess excellent selling skills – full training will be provided.  Ultimately, it’s your great approach to guests we’re looking for.  Remember, it’s hard work but with every smile you get from a guest, the more rewarding the job becomes.

Our site cleaners ensure that we provide the best possible experience for our customers and are  highly valued members of our Operations team. You need to be motivated, have a passion for presentation and able to cover 80acres of stunning  grounds with some of the most amazing backdrops any job could possibly offer.

  • To ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained throughout the park grounds and buildings
    • To ensure that all bins are emptied regularly, paying particular attention to the areas around the key highlighted areas

Merchandising Replenishment Supervisor

Seasonal Fixed Term 40 hours per week from March to November 2014

 

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to be part our Photos & Retail Team within our amazing Theme Park.  Are you looking for a challenge?  Have you got what it takes?  Our aim is to create a fantastic experience by ensuring that our shops are fully operational and fully stocked at all times.   You will liaise with the Retail Sales Manager to ensure total success of the Parks’ merchandising operation as part of your day to day role.  It will be your responsibility to ensure that all of our retail outlets have sufficient stock lines to meet the demands of a fast moving and customer orientated environment.

 

The Requirements

Previous experience of retail, merchandising and stock rotation is essential.   You will need to understand how to react to the needs of the business and be able to think on your feet and make decisions. You will also be expected to manage your time effectively and liaise with other Retail & Photo team members to ensure the right products are in the right place at the right time.

 

You need to be able to demonstrate a clear commitment to achieving high standards of guest service and have experience that backs this up.  You will need to take responsibility and ownership of working to targets and delivering high quality guest experience.  You will also have to be an excellent communicator and have an outgoing personality.

 

This is a full time seasonal role, based upon working 5 days per week out of 7 and includes regular bank holiday and weekend working.

Marine Aquarist & Main Tank Life Support Technician

Two exciting Zoological vacancies at Blue Planet Aquarium

 

Blue Planet Aquarium, Cheshire Oaks is looking to recruit two experienced Zoological team members.

The aquarium is part of Deep Sea Leisure plc which has 6 other aquarium visitor attractions in the group.  Our displays include animals from the British coastline to tropical reefs. At the heart of the aquarium is a 3.8 million litre Shark Tank; as well as a diverse collection of terrestrial vertebrates and invertebrates.

The Marine Aquarist and Main Tank Life Support Technician will be responsible for a number of the Marine Displays – ranging from small native invertebrates and fish to tropical reef exhibits, as well as assisting the Curator with the maintenance and operation of our signature Shark Tank exhibit – it would be advantageous therefore to have previous experience working on a large water system or display.

The Herpetologist and Animal Trainer will be responsible for the terrestrial exhibits including Caiman, Snakes, Otters, amphibians and invertebrates. Previous experience of breeding reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates would be advantageous.  This is a hands on position involving training of animals and also involving delivering public presentations and animal encounters.

For both vacancies a proven track record in Animal husbandry is essential, and experience of developing and maintaining display tank systems is desirable.  A proven ability to design, construct and maintain systems is a must and familiarity with PVC pipework, basic joinery and maintenance of life support equipment including pumps is a crucial part of these hands-on posts. Other responsibilities will include providing veterinary care, involvement in display development and breeding programmes as directed.

It’s important that all visitors to Blue Planet Aquarium have an enjoyable day out and this is where you will play a part. You will be responsible for conversing with visitors whilst carrying out your daily duties around the aquarium – as well as delivering engaging and inspiring presentations. It’s essential therefore that you enjoy and are just as confident working behind the scenes as well as Front of House.

This is a full time post which involves a rota pattern and often includes working weekends and Bank Holidays.
